Nickelodeon gets ready to take on Disney

by David Allen

The kid’s channel, Nickelodeon, is looking to take on the Disney network by bringing new and exciting shows aimed at the teenage market, with a brand new UK sitcom and the creation of a new daily T4 type of show.

One of the planned shows will be a twenty-part, thirty-minute, live action show, currently known as Frankentwins.

The problem for Nickelodeon is that it has a large mountain to climb, as Disney is so established and has so many hit shows with actors or presenters who have gone to be major stars.

In an attempt to tackle the teen market further, Teenick will be launching at the end of the month.

This channel will be aimed at girls aged between ten and fourteen, and will air between 5pm and 7pm, seven days a week.
