Ofcom launches kids online safety video

July 21, 2009

With the school summer holidays underway there are fears that kids will be spending more time online, and therefore parents and carers should be aware of the dangers, according to the regulator Ofcom.

With access to the internet greatly improved, around sixty six per cent of children aged between five and seven will be using the internet at home.

To assist their parents and carers Ofcom has launched a video that shows how they can make sure that the children are safe online this summer.

In reality, it is a good idea for both parents and children to be comfortable with the internet becoming a large part of the child’s life because without it they would be missing out on so much, and it is not just for leisure time, as the educational benefits are too good to be missed out on.
