Pace secures Brazil set top box order

by David Allen

The UK based set top box manufacturer, Pace, has won a contract to supply the Brazilian cable operator NET Servicos de Comunicacao with HD TV set top boxes.

NET has been pushing HD TV to its customer base for some time, and the introduction of a new set top box such as the one provided by Pace will help ensure that the consumers are receiving a full HD service.

The equipment uses Nagra and Open TV middleware to deliver content securely and affectively over a cable network.

The set top boxes are also made to low environmental impact (LEI), a standard that must be maintained these days.

Pace already makes its equipment to comply with the EU Code of Conduct, EnergyStar and MEPS guidelines for environmental production and operational energy consumption. This standard is for home use in the EU.
