Sky Sports scores with the Community Shield

by David Allen

Behind the scenes, BSkyB has been cleaning up after the collapse of the failed sports satellite broadcaster Setanta.

This time it has managed to secure the rights to the FA Community Shield.

Not only that, BSkyB has secured the rights to the women’s FA Cup Final, for the next three years.

This highlight of the women’s game will be shown on Sky Sports.

The deal comes with only two weeks to go before the FA Community shield match between Chelsea and Manchester United is played.

The sell off does not finish there either, as the FA has until the first FA Cup matches are played in November to sell the FA Cup live games that were originally bought by Setanta.
