Virgin Media to offer subscribers Channel 4 HD

by David Allen

Subscribers to Virgin Media will soon be able to view Channel 4 HD, the simulcast version of the standard definition broadcast.

Channel 4 HD will be available to all Virgin Media customers free of charge, although no timescale has been announced as to when this will happen.

Virgin Media has just launched three new HD channels - FX HD will launch on channel 158, National Geographic HD will be on channel 232 and MTVNHD will occupy channel 310.

The HD version of Living will also be available as soon as that channel launches.

All of these high definition channels will be available to Virgin Media XL customers free of charge.

The cable broadband and TV provider is also in talks with UKTV’s Good Food channel regarding carrying an HD version of that channel too.
