MySpace Mail selects CloudFilter security

August 5, 2009

Messages sent over the new MySpace Mail email system are to be protected using the CloudFilter managed email security platform.

CloudFilter, developed by email security provider Cloudmark, delivers zero hour protection against spam, viruses, and phishing attacks.

MySpace said its choice of CloudFilter demonstrates its “aggressive” approach to user privacy and security.

“We are committed to ensuring MySpace Mail has the same level of security for our users that we have employed throughout our site,” said Rajit Marwah, director of product management for MySpace Mail.

“Cloudmark’s proven technology is a vital part in our approach to providing users with a trusted and secure Mail experience.”

MySpace’s 130 million users were automatically issued with a MySpace.com email address last month, enabling them to send emails direct from the MySpace messaging system.

MySpace Mail is designed to make it easy to send video, music, and picture files.
