BBC Prime is one of those ventures run by the BBC that never really affects viewers in the UK, unless they happen to be travelling abroad.
However, in order to bring Prime into the BBC family of channels, it is about to undergo a rebranding that will see it transformed into BBC Entertainment.
The channel was launched in 1995 and now provides a service to around twelve million homes in Europe and the Middle East.
The rebranding will take place in November and BBC Entertainment will be the home for comedy, drama and light entertainment from the BBC and other content producers.
This is significant step forward for the BBC’s commitment to offer high quality programming and the channel will be premiering Mine All Mine, a new five part drama from Russell T Davies.
