Sky Sports secures La Liga

Once again, it seems that the buying power of BSkyB has proved to be too tempting, as Sky Sports secures the TV rights for the live broadcast of football matches from the Spanish top league, La Liga.

The three year deal will see Sky Sports showing at least two live matches each weekend during the 2009-10, 2010-11 and the 2011-12 seasons.

The kick off will be at a 7pm on Saturday, when Real Madrid takes on Deportivo de la Coruna on Sky Sports 2 and later, at 9pm, Real Zaragoza plays Tenerife.

According to the Spanish football expert Gerry Armstrong, the fact that fans can catch a glimpse of Ronaldo, Kaka and Henry amongst others, makes this an interesting league for football fans.

This means that the weekends are going to be full of top football matches.
