BSkyB commissions 12 silent movies

It may still be August, but for the TV schedules this is the time that planning can make or break a channel’s success over the festive season.

One surprising feature for Sky 1 will be a series of twelve short silent films.

Naturally these films are going to be for the twelve days of Christmas and it can only be assumed that the series will run up to the big day.

The twelve, eight-minute films will be produced by Hilary Bevan Jones of Endor Productions.

The series will bring to the channel a number of famous names that includes Bill Nighy who will play the part of a statue in a shopping centre at Christmas.

This is clever move by Sky 1 to introduce a new level of entertainment.
