Satellite gambling channel signs deal with Five

One of the UK’s largest gambling satellite TV broadcasters has signed a deal with the terrestrial broadcaster Five.

This deal will now allow viewers to gamble thousands of pounds on casino style games, something that was previously reserved for online and satellite viewers.

Netplay will be broadcast three nights a week on Five, starting at midnight and finishing at 4am, from the 17th September, although there are plans that will see the deal extended to six nights per week in October.

Netplay is well known on satellite TV and a recent deal with STV, the Scottish terrestrial broadcaster, has opened the door for the deal with Five.

This is the first time that live TV gambling has become available to all households throughout the UK.

There are concerns that this move will open up gambling to consumers that cannot afford it.
