Greyhound to offer free Wi-Fi

As part of the launch of the new Greyhound inter city coach service in the UK, the operator FirstGroup Plc has been keen to ensure that the demands of the modern customer are met.

According to Greyhound, the Moovbox M200 mobile broadband gateway from Icomera will be installed on the coaches to offer the passengers a free mobile broadband service.

At the same time, the system will allow the company to track the coaches throughout the UK using an integrated GPS receiver to provide a real time automatic vehicle location (AVL) over the internet.

The free Wi-Fi can provide users with a broadband connection of up 2 to 3 Mbps depending on location, using the Vodafone 3G HSPA network, passengers can also use the power points provided near each seat.
