Pace to build eco set top boxes

September 11, 2009

The set top box builder is launching a new, green, pay TV system, designed to have a Low Environmental Impact (LEI).

The new eco friendly equipment will focus on three core values: hazardous substances - the use of hazardous materials will be phased out; packaging, by using one hundred per cent recyclable materials; and power consumption, with a reduction of about seventy per cent for an HD PVR.

Pace is fast becoming a world leader in set top box manufacturing and with this announcement the company will become a world leader in environment performance too, according to the President of Pace, Richard Slee.

From now on, all Pace set top boxes will exceed the EU code of conduct, EngeryStar and MEPS guidelines for power consumption targets.
