The number of visitors to the European broadcasting trade show, IBC, in Amsterdam, has fallen slightly this year, with 45,547 visitors actually turning up to the event.
This figure doesn’t include visitors who registered for the event but didn’t actually attend.
It represents a drop of seven per cent on the previous year, but when the current financial situation is taken into consideration then this drop is not too bad at all and shows that there is strong interest in the broadcasting industry.
This year’s event has seen the launch of brand new set top boxes from the UK based manufacturer Pace and the France-based Thompson, and these businesses have really used the event to their advantage.
Most of those involved in the industry may consider the attendance level a success, as some experts predicted a drop of around twenty per cent.
