The internet service provider Be Broadband will be making further use of the micro blogging site Twitter, having created a new profile on the service which keeps subscribers informed of any network problems.
For a lot of broadband users, being able to check Twitter when there is an issue with their service would be preferable to hanging on the phone to their provider.
However, this will only work if the ISP is totally honest and posts service details on its websites.
The good thing about an ISP using Twitter is that it can be easily accessed from a mobile phone, so even if the customer’s internet is down, they can find out why and what is being done about it.
The Be Broadband Twitter accounts are http://twitter.com/BEStatus and http://twitter.com/bebroadband.
