The iPhone is coming to Korea. South Korea to be exact. Several websites have posted that South Korean authorities already cleared the iPhone for sale in the country. It lifted the legal bar on operation of location-based services by Apple.

Of course, we know that some of the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones is based in Korea. Now, Apple is on the attack taking the battle right into their front yard. Companies like Samsung and LG Electronics have dominated the Korean ( generally the Asian ) cellphone market for a very long time, so it’s great to see another company come in and give consumers another choice to consider.

South Korean mobile carrier KT is in talks with Apple about offering the iPhone, but details are not yet available, a KT spokesman said. Apple removed Wi-Fi from the model of the iPhone to be offered in China this year to obtain the country’s regulatory approval for the handset.
