Demon internet in hellish security blunder

Internet Service Provider Demon has admitted that it has accidentally sent out the personal details of thousands of customers.

3600 customers to be precise, all included in a spreadsheet which detailed their names, email addresses, telephone numbers and passwords.

The spreadsheet was erroneously attached to an email regarding Demon’s ebilling system, and while it’s not known exactly how many people received it, it’s thought to be several thousand.

Demon made it clear, speaking to PC Pro about the issue, that no financial information such as bank details or credit card numbers was involved.

Apparently the incident had been caused, unsurprisingly, by human error. A case of be careful what you click on.
