The PS3′s motion controller, due to be released in the spring of next year, is still yet to be christened.
At the Tokyo Game Show, the President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, admitted that the company hadn’t yet decided on a name.
At the moment it is informally known as the “wand controller”.
“The Sixaxis and the DualShock 3 – while great product names – are based on the actual tech,” Yoshida commented. “The name we pick for the wand controller maybe won’t be so techy.”
The Wavy Stick, then, perhaps?
As well as its name, pricing details remain an equally unknown quantity.
We do know, however, that there are plans to re-release Resident Evil 5 to take advantage of the motion controller when it first launches.
