Google has announced the integration of Hot Trends functionality to its main search results in the US and Japan.
Hot Trends is a list of the top forty most searched for terms on Google, updated in real-time on the hour.
Bringing this into the main Google search engine will mean that if a user searches for a hot topic, graphs will pop up illustrating how hot that particular trend is, and how fast its popularity is rising.
The top hundred hottest trends will be covered (as opposed to the more compact top forty on the Hot Trends web page itself).
When this functionality will be coming to Google UK hasn’t yet been confirmed.
We expect it won’t be long, however, before we can judge exactly how trendy we all are.
