ESPN slam dunks NBA rights

October 1, 2009

Since taking over from the failed satellite sports broadcaster Setanta, ESPN has been quietly building up a significant portfolio of live sporting events, the latest being with the NBA.

ESPN had agreed terms with the NBA that will see the satellite sports broadcaster having the rights to show live NBA Basketball games in the UK and in Ireland.

This means that ESPN will be showing around three live games per week during the season as well as one on Saturdays.

The broadcaster will also be showing associated content from friendlies, play offs and of course finals.

This year’s season starts on the 6th October at 7.30pm and, as it happens, this match, between the Utah Jazz and the Chicago Bulls, takes place at the O2 arena in London.
