TalkTalk picks up 77,000 new customers

The internet service provider TalkTalk has released figures showing that during the second quarter of the year it gained seventy seven thousand new broadband customers.

The figures are part of the Carphone Warehouse’s financial report, and the figures were taken from the period before the company took over rival ISP, Tiscali.

Taking that into consideration, the actual increase in new customers is just sixteen thousand. This is because sixty two thousand Tiscali customers switch to another broadband service.

The number of customers leaving Tiscali should come as no surprise, as industry experts predicted that these customers would switch to another ISP.

According to Charles Dunstone, the CEO of The Carphone Warehouse, the company is expecting to see an increase in its customer numbers from 4.1 million to 4.2 million by the end of the year.
