Olympics bring super fast broadband hope to Dorset

October 12, 2009

The Olympic Games are an international symbol of hope and peace, so there is no reasons why they should not bring hope to the rest of the UK when it comes to the provision of super fast broadband services.

MP Jim Knight believes that his constituency in South Dorset could benefit from fibre optic broadband, which is being rolled out across the capital for the Olympics in 2012.

Regions outside of the capital such as Dorset, where sailing events will be held, will also need to be connected up to the superfast broadband network, and the MP believes that homes and businesses should benefit, as well as the Olympic venues.

This will provide an ideal opportunity for the industry to connect many of the regions outside of the current networks to fibre broadband before 2012.
