Tories go party political streaming on Spotify

The conservative party will be campaigning for the next election on Spotify in an effort to reach “tech savvy” voters.

A forty second advert is due to be played next week as a tester. Apparently it will feature party chairman Eric Pickles giving Labour a roasting over the economy (which shouldn’t be too difficult).

If the ad is deemed a success, you can look forward to more Tory sound-bites on Spotify in the future.

Which is perhaps part of Spotify’s grand plan to get more users to upgrade to its premium subscription service with no adverts.
