The first quarter results from BSkyB are due out on Friday 23rd October and industry experts are expecting good things from them, but one of the main points of interest will be demand for Sky+ HD.
High definition has been a good supporting business within the BSkyB corporation.
Other indicators from outside the company are the sales of new flat screen panel television sets.
This market is booming with an estimated ten million units already installed in homes.
One problem with Sky+ HD is that there is a backlog.
Effectively BSkyB is controlling the pace of roll out, which in a way creates a demand as consumers always want something that is not freely available.
BSkyB has weathered the current financial storm well and there is no reason to doubt that these first quarter results are going to be anything but impressive.
