TalkTalk offers free connection again

October 22, 2009

Consumers thinking of switching their internet service provider, or taking out broadband for the first time, can save the £29.99 connection fee normally charged by TalkTalk to set up the broadband account.

This, of course, is not a new idea as many customers of TalkTalk signed up under a previous free connection promotion.

In order to get free connection consumers will need to sign up to the TalkTalk Essentials broadband and home phone package.

The new customer will also get a free wireless router, 40 Gb download limit and broadband connection speeds of up to 8 Mbps.

Customers of TalkTalk are able to add boosts to their packages at a cost of £2 per month each.

These can be for faster connection speeds and extra security.

Do TalkTalk say how much they add to your monthly bill should you exceed the 40gb? I wonder why they don’t advertise such charges?

When they offer an unlimited connection at a reasonable price I may look again, but until then I will keep clear of them.

Talktalk may be cheap but there customer service is abysmal – believe me. I had 6 very stressful months of phoning virtually every night to resolve a line fault between the exchange and our village, we have gladly opted for the £70 early termination charge just to be rid of them!
