Google has added something to its Reader that is going please some users and annoy others.
It is a way of tracking surfing habits in order to tailor content to the user, which sounds like something that we have heard before!
This item is called quite simply “Popular Items”.
It is a new section that will use an algorithm to track favourite videos, web pages and images from around the internet.
Armed with this information the user will receive content related to their surfing habits.
As expected, according to Google this has been created to help the user out by providing relevant content in their “Popular Items Feed”.
There have been some changes to the interface with “Explore” and “Recommended Sources” tabs appearing on the left hand side on the page.
