Despite the Carphone Warehouse’s takeover of Tiscali back in May, it would seem from the outside that nothing much has changed.
Tiscali customers are still paying to the ISP and everything would appear to be normal.
However, inside Tiscali things are not as smooth as it would appear, as Tiscali’s staff are instructing lawyers to look after their interests following the threat of cutbacks, after managment of the company passed to Carphone Warehouse.
It seems that technical managers based at Milton Keynes and Stevenage are at risk of being made redundant.
However the way that this has been done, with little warning, has annoyed the Tiscali staff so much that around thirty have taken out legal advice.
Job cuts have been on the cards since the takeover, as the Carphone Warehouse prepares to demerge TalkTalk from the parent company.
