Satellite broadcaster BSkyB has signed a further agreement with the digital solutions provider OpenTV, which will help BSkyB develop and improve its current digital TV platform.

For Sky subscribers there should be little obvious change in their TV enjoyment, but OpenTV’s digital solutions ensure the whole experience runs smoothly.

It is expected that work will involve the introduction of the latest Core 3 middleware services.

According to Sky’s Roger Lambert, OpenTV is set to become one of BSkyB’s key partners, as the software developed will make the subscriber experience as seamless as possible.

It is essential for Sky TV to keep innovating in order for the service to remain in at the top of the digital TV pyramid and this deal could just do that.
