Sony Ericsson Equinox Phone

Is flip still hip? That is the question Sony Ericsson will find out in the coming months as it prepares to launch its flashy Equinox cell phone. With today’s obsession with anything smartphone and touch screen, some people are questioning Sony Ericsson’s decision to create a flip phone. To top it all off, the Equinox comes only with mediocre features: a 2.2-inch QVGA screen, 3.2-megapixel camera, 3G, Bluetooth, and a standard number pad for dialing.

But there are some interesting features too. It has motion controls that let’s users swing the phone to silence calls or alarms, built-in GPS provides turn-by-turn navigation, and an OLED screen on the front signals incoming calls. There’s also an FM radio, music playback, a personal organizer, and lighting schemes that you can customize by color.

The design isn’t too bad either. It has a carbon with white trim design. It also sports island-style numbers on the pad.

Whether the phone is success or not, the coming months will tell us. Sony Ericsson is breaking away from the pack and creating an identity of its own. Well, only time will tell.

  1. Samsung Equinox is equipped with enhanced design features along with integrated GPS sensors for turn –by-turn directions. It supports 3G technology with which it is possible to have data and voice traffic simultaneously.
You can easily shoot videos & transfer it to computers via email or upload it directly to the YouTube application.

    Advantages are:

    • Decent Photo quality
    • Excellent video playback.
    • Support Goggle Maps & TeleNav.
    • Decent Call quality

    Disadvantages are:

    • Mediocre Web and Camera capabilities
    • Average Speakerphone quality.
    • No Q-W-E-R-T-Y keyboard.
    • Poor user interface.
    • You cant connect headset & charge phone at same time.

Though Samsung Equinox has average camera , web qualities and without any email service, the only thing that lets drives you to purchase this phone is its look (flap phone) and its price.
