Small businesses claim UK broadband in Time Warp

November 6, 2009

The government’s minimum broadband plan is being blasted by the owners of small businesses, as being totally inadequate to keep up with the current status of the internet.

With many small businesses located in rural areas, talk of 50 Mbps means absolutely nothing to business that can only get around 0.5 Mbps – and that is on a good day.

According to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) claim that the minimum broadband pledge could potentially harm small business in the future as they will not be able to make full use of the internet.

Research shows that half of small businesses are currently rely on the internet for around fifty per cent of their revenues; this just shows how important broadband is for small businesses.
