Dell has confirmed that it will be launching its own smartphone.

The Dell Mini 3 will be launched in China and Brazil, via operators Dell has signed deals with, China Mobile and Claro respectively.

Little is known about the specs of the Mini 3, but apparently it will be Android based, and it will reportedly have a 3.5 inch touchscreen.

“Our entry into the smart phone category is a logical extension of Dell’s consumer product evolution over the past two years,” commented Ron Garriques, President of Dell Global Consumer Group.

“We are developing smaller and smarter mobile products that enable our customers to take their internet experience out of the home and do the things they want to do whenever and wherever they want.”

The anticipated release date for the Mini 3 is later this month in China, and by the end of the year in Brazil. There’s no word on other countries yet.
