Google Chrome OS polished and ready for launch?

It’s rumour time (again), and this one’s about Google, who are apparently ready to roll out the Chrome operating system.

TechCrunch has reported that a “reliable source” has said that the OS project will be ready for download next week.

The operating system will be aimed at netbooks, so it shouldn’t be too long before we see Chrome powered devices – if the rumour is correct, of course.

Last month, a strong rumour of an imminent launch turned out to be false, but as ever we’ll just have to wait and see exactly how reliable this source is.
