Twenty million Brits scared to press red button

November 16, 2009

It may seem incredible but around forty five per cent of UK television viewers, that is around twenty million people, have never pressed the red button on their TV remote.

Although that may seem amazing, the reason why is even more fantastic.

Apparently, according to research carried out by the comparison site moneysupermarket.com, the main reason for not pressing the red button is that they are scared of accidentally spending money.

This is because services such as Sky+ and Sky+ HD use the red button for ordering and it is quite easy to get through the system and order something.

Naturally, there are safeguards in place and with Sky+, services can be ordered but conformation is usually needed, although Box Office films can simply be ordered and watched.
