The cable TV provider, Virgin Media, is reported to be thinking of postponing the sale of the digital TV channels, although there is no clear indication as to what the reason is.
It seems that the issue is BSkyB, as Virgin Media does not want to sell any of its assets to the satellite broadcaster.
Other broadcasters, such as Viacom and Time Warner are also interested in the channels.
The channels involved are Bravo, Living and Trouble, which Virgin Media wants to sell separately and then there is the fifty per cent share in UKTV.
It is assumed that BBC Worldwide will take this, as it already owns the other half of UKTV.
Virgin Media made it well known that it does not want the channels to go to Sky TV, but the company is duty bound to sell at the highest price; enter BSkyB!
