BT adds more global Wi-Fi hotspots

BT Openzone users will soon be able to access the internet in around eleven thousand more places, following the addition of more Wi-Fi hotspots by BT.

The trouble is that these new Wi-Fi hotspots are located around the world and are therefore unlikely to assist with the BT Openzone coverage within the UK.

The deal between BT and Beeline Wi-Fi, ChungHwa, eService Bar, Monzoon, Wireless G and WAYPORT EMEA, will take the amount of global Wi-Fi hotspots available to users to sixty five thousand.

Clearly, there is a market for global Wi-Fi and this new deal will mean that BT Openzone users will be able to access the internet in such places as Greenland, Taiwan, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
