3DTV a $10 billion business say Sony

3DTV is going to be the next big for the electronics giant Sony.

In fact, according to the boss of Sony, Sir Howard Stringer, the company in pinning its hopes on 3DTV being its next $10 billion business.

Sony is thinking that 3DTV and 3D enabled electronic devices are quite capable of producing over $11 billion in the year from 2012 to 2013.

In fact the company could use a boost like that, as last year it lost $1 billion.

Sony will be launched its new Bravia LCD TV next year.

This will be fully 3D capable and will come out just as BSkyB launches its 3D Channel on Sky TV.

3D technology will also feature in the Playstation, laptops and the Blu-ray DVD player.

Sony appears to be putting a lot of faith in the 3D effect.
