The cable TV provider, Virgin Media, will be providing subscribers to its cable TV service with the all new digital video recorder produced by the US maker TiVo.
This announcement follows an agreement between TiVo and Virgin Media, and according to the cable provider this deal will allow the company to start offering the UK’s most advanced TV and broadband service.
The TiVo set top box is due to be rolled out in 2010.
It is likely to offer the user a TV Guide and recording facility, as well as being connected to the internet, which will allow the user to access many of the on demand services that are now available.
This equipment combined with the fibre network could prove to be an attractive package for consumers.
