Sky Deutschland focuses on HD
Sky Deutschland’s latest marketing campaign focuses on its HD services.

The company is promoting a €199 package which includes an HD starter box, prepaid subscription to Sky Welt’s 21 channels and HD receiver.

Two versions of the box are available, the Humax PR-HD 2000C for cable users, or the Sky HD1 from Pace for satellite households.

The inclusive subscription for satellite viewers offers Sky Welt Extra, with a further 18 channels.

Both versions include Sky Sports HD, so customers will be able to watch all matches of the soccer World Cup 2010 in high definition.

Sky Deutschland will be hoping the campaign, which will run until 12 January, will help boost customer numbers, which have been disappointing.

The company needs around 3 million subscribers to reach a break-even position and doesn’t foresee reaching this figure for another year.

  1. A huge dissapointing! Device very large, very-very basic, doesn’t allow you to record some shows and watch them later. Image quality very low, sometimes fadely doubled with another channel. Movies old, you can buy the DVDs in supermarket for 1-3 euro.
Movies doubled in german, without any subtitle or original soundtrack. Last century TV… Never again and strongly unrecommended!
