WWE signs largest TV deal with BSkyB

December 2, 2009

The organisation behind the global wrestling scene, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), has just agreed what is being described as the largest ever international television deal with the satellite broadcaster BSkyB.

The deal replaces the current agreement that expired this year and it will last for a further five years, meaning that WWE will be broadcast by BSkyB until at least 2014.

According to Andrew Whittaker, the president of the WWE, it is the largest TV deal that the organisation has ever made with an international broadcaster.

For BSkyB the deal means that WWE content can be shown in standard and high definition but BSkyB are planning the famous 3D Channel, so could WWE content ever be broadcast in 3D?

BSkyB is forever pushing the boundaries so it does not seem unreasonable.
