The video games charts are still being dominated by Activision’s massive selling shooter, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
According to Chart Track, even though sales of the game were down 7%, it has held the number one position in the all-format charts for the fourth week running.
That’s despite a strong challenge from Fifa 10, which has accelerated the pace of its sales, no doubt being bought in plentiful quantities as a Christmas present. It’s up 24% at number two, flying past Assassin’s Creed II at number three.
It will be interesting to see how long Modern Warfare 2 can hold the top spot, and whether or not it will make the Christmas number one.
Nintendo dominates the charts after the top three, with New Super Mario Bros Wii, Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus positioned at number four, five and six respectively.
