World Cup to be filmed in 3D

December 7, 2009

With the huge interest in 3D TV technology in the home, it would be a waste of a good opportunity if at least some of the World Cup football championships in South Africa weren’t filmed in 3D.

It seems that Sony is very keen to get involved in the project as it will provide an opportunity to show the latest technology that the company has developed.

But before everyone rushes out to pick up a band new 3D TV, which will currently cost thousands of pounds, the screenings of these football matches will take place at so called “Fan Fests”.

These events will be taking place in London, Berlin, Mexico City, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, and Sydney, and fans will be given special 3D TV glasses.
