Freeview HD set top box launched

by David Allen

The free to view digital TV service Freeview began testing its HD broadcast last month, but with no HD capable Freeview set top boxes on the market it must seem frustrating for those people living in the trial areas.

However there are some set top boxes on the horizon, like the new 3View box.

This comes in that fashionable white finish and will offer the user access to the free HD channels that are available on Freeview.

There is more, as the 3View unit will also connect to the internet, making on demand services like the BBC’s iPlayer and the ITV Player available without the need for a computer.

Unfortunately the 3View set top box will not be available to buy until March 2010 at the earliest.
