Motorola Milestone sells faster than Apple iPhone

Expansys, the company exclusively selling the Motorola Milestone phone in the UK, has said it sold out within three hours of launch.

The phone, which has been well received in the US where it’s known as the Droid, flew off the shelves on December 10th.

Expansys said in a statement to Pocket Lint: “Within three hours of the product being listed as in stock on the eXpansys site it sold out.”

“This makes the Motorola Milestone the fastest selling gadget in the website’s eleven year history, even more successful than the iPhone.”

Thus it seems the handset has initially lived up to its billing as an iPhone killer, although to be fair, the increased sales are partially due to the fact that the online retailer is the sole outlet for the Milestone (which wasn’t the case for the iPhone, obviously).

There’s no denying its popularity, though. Expansys also said that a second shipment of the phone is already on the way, and it should arrive in good time to fulfil Christmas orders.

The Milestone boasts a 3.7 inch display, sliding Qwerty keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, 16GB of memory plus wi-fi and 3G. It’s priced at £450 sim-free.

Sold faster than the iPhone…on one, fairly obscure in the grand scheme of things, website?

    BS statistics are bs statistics.
