With the joint venture between the BBC, ITV, BT and Five still in limbo, while the various authorities make their minds whether to allow the project to go ahead, it seems that the BBC is eyeing up even more partners for the project.

In a strange turn of events it seems that the BBC is looking to bring BSkyB into the project.

According to Erik Huggers, the BBC’s director of future media and technology, if BSkyB is happy to have its Sky Player on the Xbox, there should be no reason as to why BSkyB cannot work with Canvas.

The issue is whether BSkyB sees Project Canvas as a viable platform to provide more viewers with its content.
