National Theatre gets head of digital

The National Theatre is embracing the digital age with the appointment of its first head of digital media, whose job it will be to come up with a digital strategy for the National Theatre, including the NT Live cinema experience.

David Sabel joined the NT as the producer of NT Live.

He is now the head of the NT’s entire digital programme and will be responsible for the growth of digital services.

NT Live is a scheme that films live performances at the NT in high definition and then broadcasts these performances via satellite to over 70 locations in the UK and 260 locations around the world, allowing audiences to experience the performance without actually being there.

Next in line will be to produce more content, tools and technology to make the experience better for audiences.
