Mediacity tempts ITV

With a new man at the top, ITV is once again looking at the Salford Quays development in Manchester.

This is where the BBC is planning to move its northern division to and so it has been dubbed Mediacity.

ITV did look at the development before, but some sort of financial issue came up and the deal fell though.

This is a complex situation for ITV as it would have to move the entire set of Coronation Street to the new complex from the old Granada TV Studios at the Quay Street site in the city.

According to the Guardian, the ball has begun to roll again, with the developers, the Peel Group, having apparently offered ITV a good deal if it does decide to move.
