There is plenty of support for the Gaelic language television channel BBC Alba.
Even the Secretary of State for Scotland, Jim Murphy, has offered his support for the channel.
However the future of the channel seems to be in the hands of the BBC Trust which has been reviewing its performance and reach.
If everything goes according to plan, BBC Alba could be launched on Freeview.
Yet, as exciting as this may seem for the channel and viewers, placing it on Freeview does not seem to be as easy as it may first sound.
If BBC Alba were to be added to the Freeview service, this would mean that in certain areas Freeview would lose the main radio stations such as Radio 1, 2, 3, 4, Five Live and Radio Scotland, in order to accommodate it.
