A recent report found that global pay to view satellite services earned around $70 billion in 2009.

It seems that the market is on the move in the right direction as the amount of platforms available to viewers has increased to 113, growth of 38 per cent over three years.

According to the findings of the ‘Satellite TV Platforms, World Survey & Prospects to 2019′ report, there are now 131 million pay to view subscribers in the world, which is an increase of fifteen per cent on the year.

The report is forecasting an increase in pay to view satellite subscribers to around 235 million by 2019, with emerging markets standing at 88 in 2009 from 20 in 2000, which is hardly a surprise.
