ESPN free weekend on VM TV

by David Allen

Today is the start of ESPN’s free weekend, which means that Sky satellite and Virgin Media cable viewers will be able to watch ESPN and ESPN HD1 free of charge until late Sunday evening.

This is a clever move from the new UK sports satellite broadcaster because this weekend is FA Cup weekend and therefore no Premier League or Championship matches will be played, meaning that no live football will take place over the free weekend.

But there are plenty of other sports available to sports fans, such as Basketball, Ice Hockey and the Ultimate Fighting League (UFC), as well some football from various leagues around the world.

ESPN is available to subscribers for around £8 per month, although some subscriber packages such as Virgin Media’s XL TV include ESPN in with the package price.
