Sky Digital to enter Malta’s TV market

The launch of a new satellite TV service on the island of Malta should be a time for viewers to rejoice at the introduction of more content, but this deal means that much of the content that was available to viewers, will only be shown through the Sky Malta service.

Much of the UK content, including that from the BBC and the live football matches from the Premier League, will become exclusive to Sky Malta.

Currently there are two main providers, Go and Melita, with the latter currently holding the rights to the live football, but it seems that Go will be taking these rights on in three years time.

Where Sky Malta fits into this scheme is not fully known, although one thing that is known at the moment is that viewers are confused.
