Mobile operators scramble for Apple iPad

Apple has confirmed that its freshly launched tablet computer will be coming to the UK in March, according to a report in The Times.

Although the first model to be launched will be the most basic, which just comes with wi-fi support.

However, the more expensive 3G versions of the iPad could land in the UK as soon as April.

The Times also says that a source claims Orange is already in talks with Apple to provide 3G coverage for the device.

And apparently negotiations with O2 and Vodafone will be taking place in the very near future.

While O2 bagged the exclusive on the iPhone, it isn’t expected that one single operator will get the monopoly on the iPad.
